Gold Note Unveils Line of High-End Audio Cables Featuring Adaptive Geometry and Solid-Core Technology.
Italian audio manufacturer Gold Note has announced the release of a comprehensive new line of high-end audio cables. Built entirely in Italy, the collection spans a wide range of applications from analog interconnects and speaker cables to power supply connections and phono leads. According to the company, the cables are designed with an emphasis on electrical integrity and mechanical resilience, employing proprietary technologies to preserve audio fidelity.
At the core of Gold Note’s design approach is what the company describes as a mission to “choose the best conductor, design the best geometry.” This has led to the adoption of solid-core conductors across all but the entry-level models, paired with what the manufacturer calls a “self-adaptive geometry.” The internal structure is said to allow conductors to elastically rearrange themselves under physical stress, helping to maintain stable impedance during use.
Gold Note claims this design addresses issues such as micro-reflections and signal phase shifts that can result from the physical deformation of cables during regular use.
All cables, except those in the entry-level Essential range, use solid-core conductors. According to the company, these offer a stable signal path and minimize the skin effect—a phenomenon where high-frequency signals concentrate on the surface of conductors, potentially altering tonal balance.
Another distinctive feature across most of the lineup is the use of Elastollan tubes filled with high-density mineral oil. This combination, Gold Note states, enhances insulation and dampens mechanical vibrations, acting as a “liquid damper” to reduce noise.
The company offers four distinct ranges:
- Magnifico – The flagship line, built with ultra-pure solid silver conductors and equipped with an external active grounding system powered by a battery. The company claims this setup delivers an “absolute black background” and enhanced detail retrieval.
- Extra – A hybrid configuration of silver and oxygen-free copper (OFC) solid-core conductors, aimed at achieving balance between transparency and tonal body.
- Plus – Employs solid-core OFC copper with similar mechanical structure as the Extra series but without silver or active grounding.
- Essential – A more accessible line using multi-stranded OFC copper. Though lacking the advanced features of higher-tier lines, it retains some core design elements and is hand-assembled in Italy.
Gold Note also integrates what it calls Bybee “quantum filters” in its Arno line of power distributors. These components are claimed to reduce quantum and photonic noise, enhancing sonic focus and three-dimensionality.
The cables are organized into functional categories named after Italian cities, reflecting Gold Note’s branding strategy. These include:
- Firenze Line – Analog interconnects (RCA/XLR)
- Siena Line – Speaker cables
- Lucca Line – AC power cables
- Arno Line – Power distribution units with integrated filtering
- Phono Line – Low-level signal cables for phono cartridges
- Firenze Coax Line – Digital coaxial cables with constant 75 Ohm impedance
- PSU Line – Low-resistance DC cables for power supply units
Connector plating across the ranges is either rhodium or gold, with no use of nickel, which Gold Note describes as “notoriously poorly conductive.”
While Gold Note positions its audio cables as contributing to “a more natural, smooth and harshness-free sound,” these claims are based on the company’s internal research and engineering philosophy. The technical implementations, such as solid-core conductors and oil-filled damping, are designed to support signal fidelity in high-performance audio systems.
The new cable lines are available now through Gold Note’s dealer network.
