Devialet Introduces Phantom Ultimate: The Next Generation of Its Iconic High-End Speaker.
With the Phantom Ultimate, French audio specialist Devialet unveils the next evolution of its legendary speaker. Ten years after the original Phantom’s debut, this new generation is said to reveal “every nuance of music with unprecedented clarity,” featuring upgraded technology, refined acoustics, and a reimagined design.
Evolution of a Classic
First launched in 2015, the Phantom quickly became a milestone in modern audio engineering. Now, Devialet aims to continue that legacy with the Phantom Ultimate. Developed in Paris, the new model combines state-of-the-art signal processing with precision mechanical design to deliver an exceptionally detailed and physically immersive sound experience. “With Devialet Phantom Ultimate, we reaffirm our status as a pioneer in the audio industry,” said Jacques Demont, CEO of Devialet. “This new era invites listeners to experience sound with unmatched intensity, clarity, and depth.”
Two Performance Levels: 108 dB and 98 dB
The new lineup includes two models: the Phantom Ultimate 108 dB and Phantom Ultimate 98 dB.
According to the manufacturer, the flagship 108 dB model delivers 1,100 watts of power and a frequency range from 14 Hz to 35 kHz. Newly developed tweeters and optimized bass drivers are designed to ensure precise and distortion-free playback. The smaller 98 dB version offers 400 watts of total power and a frequency range from 18 Hz to 25 kHz, all within a more compact enclosure. Both speakers support 32-bit / 96 kHz audio processing and can be used solo, in stereo pairs, or as part of a multiroom setup.
Refined Technologies
Phantom Ultimate integrates several of Devialet’s proprietary technologies. The ADH® New Gen (Analog Digital Hybrid) amplification combines the purity of analog Class A performance with the efficiency of digital Class D power stages. SAM® (Speaker Active Matching) continuously adapts in real time to maintain precise phase and amplitude accuracy. HBI® (Heart Bass Implosion) enables ultra-deep bass reproduction down to 14 Hz, delivering sound that can be felt as much as heard. Meanwhile, AVL™ (Adaptive Volume Level)—first introduced with Devialet’s Dione soundbar—dynamically adjusts volume according to content type.
New Design and User Experience
Visually, Phantom Ultimate retains Devialet’s signature sculptural silhouette while presenting a more refined form. The 108 dB version features a seamless design without a visible woofer cover, emphasizing the clean, organic look. Two new finishes join the lineup—Deep Forest (a dark green-black tone) and Light Pearl (a soft matte white)—alongside the signature Opéra de Paris edition, which features hand-applied 22-carat gold leaf detailing.
The user experience has also been reimagined. The new Devialet OS (DOS3) software platform supports a wide array of streaming protocols, including AirPlay, Google Cast, Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and UPnP. The redesigned Devialet App offers enhanced control, featuring a six-band equalizer and dedicated listening modes for music, podcasts, and cinema.
