FiiO has announced the EH11, a new pair of compact on-ear Bluetooth headphones that combine a retro-inspired aesthetic with modern wireless audio features. Officially named the FiiO EH11 Retro Bluetooth Mini Headphones, the model is positioned as an entry-level option with a distinctive design and a focus on portability.
The most immediately noticeable aspect of the FiiO EH11 is its visual design. The headphones feature compact wooden earcups inspired by 1980s mini on-ear headphones, alongside transparent elements that expose parts of the internal structure. Physical rotary knobs are integrated into the earcups, serving as controls for volume and track navigation. According to FiiO, this approach is intended to echo vintage hi-fi equipment while remaining suitable for everyday portable use. The headphones weigh approximately 92 grams, which the company says supports extended listening sessions.
Internally, the EH11 is equipped with a 40 mm long-throw dynamic driver using what FiiO describes as a high-damping composite diaphragm. The manufacturer claims this design lowers the resonant frequency to 60 Hz and allows bass extension down to 17 Hz. On paper, the stated frequency response ranges from 17 Hz to 40 kHz, with an impedance of 16 ohms. FiiO says the result is “controlled, energetic low frequencies, sharp transient response and a layered presentation,” though these performance characteristics remain manufacturer claims.
The EH11 uses a semi-open acoustic design, incorporating ventilation ports and damping filters. FiiO states that this configuration reduces the pressure buildup and closed-in sensation often associated with on-ear headphones, while still managing airflow to limit sound leakage. The company adds that this approach makes vocals sound more natural and creates a wider, more transparent soundstage.
Wireless connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 5.4, with support for SBC, AAC and LDAC codecs. When paired with compatible devices, LDAC allows transmission rates of up to 990 kbps. A built-in microphone enables voice calls, and the headphones can be used at home or on the move.
Battery life is rated at up to 30 hours of playback on a single charge, with a full recharge taking around 1.5 hours. The EH11 is compatible with the FiiO Control App, which provides access to equaliser settings, genre-specific sound profiles, low-latency gaming modes and firmware updates. The headphones also include replaceable ear pads, supplied in two colour sets, for maintenance and cosmetic customisation.
