Triangle launches Solstice loudspeaker range with new acoustic Technologies.
French audio manufacturer Triangle has introduced its new Solstice loudspeaker range, a series positioned as the next generation of the company’s Esprit lineup and designed to deliver high-fidelity sound reproduction for both music and home cinema applications.
According to Triangle, the Solstice range combines new acoustic technologies, revised cabinet construction and updated industrial design in an effort to enhance sound accuracy and overall listening performance. The company says the series has been developed to offer a higher level of performance within its market segment while maintaining the accessibility that has characterised the Esprit family.
The Solstice range includes the floorstanding Solstice 8, the bookshelf Solstice 3 and the Solstice C3 centre-channel speaker. Triangle states that the speakers are intended to provide a natural and lifelike sound presentation, with a balance aimed at both first-time hi-fi buyers and experienced audiophiles.
Newly Developed Horn Tweeter
A key feature of the new range is the TZ2540 MG horn tweeter, which incorporates two newly developed acoustic architectures. Triangle says the tweeter uses a redesigned phase plug, moulded as a single piece, to maintain a consistent response across a wide listening area. The tweeter also features a barrel-shaped cut-out at the base of the horn that, according to the manufacturer, improves integration with the midrange driver.
The company has also focused on cabinet design and resonance control. Triangle’s DVAS internal reinforcement system is intended to improve the dissipation of mechanical resonances generated by the drivers. High-density MDF panels are used throughout the range to create what the manufacturer describes as an inert cabinet structure, while rounded cabinet edges are designed to reduce edge effects and support more even sound dispersion.
According to Triangle, the Solstice speakers build on the sound signature of the Esprit range by combining controlled bass performance with clear vocal reproduction and detailed high frequencies. The manufacturer says this approach is intended to create a listening experience capable of conveying both large-scale orchestral performances and more intimate vocal recordings.
Design considerations also play a role in the new series. Triangle says the rounded cabinet profiles and sculpted silicone surrounds around the drivers contribute to acoustic performance while maintaining a minimalist appearance. The speakers are available in Teak, Birch, White and Black Ash finishes, with matching magnetic grilles designed to preserve the clean aesthetic of the cabinets.
The Solstice 3 bookshelf model is designed to integrate with Triangle’s new S05 speaker stand, which features an aluminium support structure and glass base. The stand is available in Teak and Greige finishes.
