Danish high-end audio manufacturer Audio Group Denmark has announced two new reference products, the Børresen M8 Gold Signature loudspeaker and the Aavik M-880 mono power amplifier. According to the company, the launches represent the culmination of more than fifteen years of research into noise control, system integration and amplification design.

The manufacturer positions the new models as the latest step in a long-term development strategy focused on treating loudspeakers, electronics and resonance control as a unified system rather than separate components.

The M8 Gold Signature, produced under the firm’s Børresen brand, was developed by engineer Michael Børresen and designer Flemming E. Rasmussen. The company describes the project as an attempt to create a flagship model that preserves the visual identity of the existing M-series while significantly increasing performance.

The loudspeaker employs a folded dipole bass system using twelve 8-inch woofers per speaker, arranged to radiate forward and backward. Audio Group Denmark states that the design aims to reduce distortion and improve bass control. The system also incorporates low-mass driver elements, iron-free motor structures and the firm’s RP94 ribbon tweeter, which the manufacturer says contributes to fast transient response and linear reproduction.

Noise reduction is another core design focus. The enclosure uses dense multi-layer construction and a three-module architecture, combined with mechanical grounding devices and proprietary technologies from sister company Ansuz. According to the manufacturer, these measures are intended to create what it describes as a “low-noise foundation” for improved detail and spatial reproduction. Each speaker is assembled and calibrated in Denmark.

Aavik M-880: Mono amplifier designed for demanding speaker loads

Alongside the loudspeaker, the company introduced the M-880 mono amplifier under its Aavik electronics brand. The amplifier was developed to meet what the manufacturer describes as the increasing performance demands of its flagship loudspeakers.

The M-880 uses a Class A output stage with controlled bias designed to maintain Class A operation regardless of load conditions. Audio Group Denmark claims this approach preserves linearity while reducing operating temperature compared with traditional implementations.

Power output is specified at 400 watts into 8 ohms, doubling to 800 watts into 4 ohms and reaching approximately 1,300 watts into 2 ohms. The company states that a damping factor above 1,000 and low output impedance are intended to provide tight control over complex speaker loads.

The amplifier also features a high-speed power supply with substantial local energy storage and multiple interference-suppression measures. As with the loudspeaker, mechanical grounding and resonance-control devices are included. Each unit is assembled, tested and auditioned in Denmark before shipment.
