RS Audio Launches Apparition Series of High-End Audio Cables.
RS Audio has announced the launch of its Apparition Series, a new range of high-end audio cables designed and handcrafted in Canada. The Alberta-based company says the series is intended to provide audiophiles with a combination of detailed sound reproduction, craftsmanship and pricing positioned below its flagship products.
The Apparition Series sits between RS Audio’s Illumination Series and Emersion Series. According to the manufacturer, the new cables use its proprietary Vortex Magnetic Waveguide Technology, a magnetic conduction system designed to guide audio signals through an arrangement of magnets and specialized filtering materials.
RS Audio says the technology is intended to improve signal transmission and reduce unwanted noise and distortion. The company claims that the approach provides greater musical detail, clarity and realism than conventional high-end audio cables.

The new range consists of four cable types. The Apparition Power Cable is offered in US, UK and EU versions, with prices starting at US$5,500. The Apparition Analog Interconnect is available with RCA and XLR connectors and starts at US$4,250.
The Apparition Digital Interconnect starts at US$2,125 and is offered in RCA, BNC and XLR AES3 configurations for S/PDIF digital connections. The Apparition Speaker Cable is available with Spade or Banana terminations, with prices starting at US$11,000.
According to RS Audio, the design philosophy behind the series focuses on signal performance rather than cosmetic detailing. Each cable is handcrafted using what the company describes as premium materials and precision manufacturing techniques.
RS Audio says the cables are engineered to provide characteristics including wide soundstaging, precise imaging, dynamic response and tonal accuracy. The manufacturer describes the intended result as a cable that remains unobtrusive within the overall audio system, allowing more attention to be placed on the recording itself.
