Q Acoustics has expanded its 3000c speaker lineup with the new 3040c floorstanding speaker.
The compact floorstanding model Q Acoustics 3040c is aimed at listeners looking to upgrade from bookshelf or standmount speakers to a floorstander while working with limited living space.
With the introduction of the 3040c, Q Acoustics completes the 3000c series. The new model incorporates many of the technical features found throughout the lineup while combining them with a slim floorstanding design intended for small to medium-sized listening rooms.
For low and mid frequencies, the 3040c uses two 120 mm mid/bass drivers featuring the company’s C3 Continuous Curved Cone technology. According to the manufacturer, the driver profile combines the bass performance of a conventional cone with controlled midrange reproduction and improved high-frequency behavior. The two drivers work together to reproduce bass and midrange frequencies while providing a smooth transition to the tweeter.
High frequencies are handled by a 22 mm tweeter whose design is inspired by the Concept series. The tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the front baffle to reduce the effects of cabinet pressure and vibrations generated by the mid/bass drivers. It is also paired with a vented internal chamber designed to minimize distortion and deliver detailed high-frequency reproduction.
The cabinet also incorporates technologies used throughout the series. Internal P2P Point-to-Point bracing reinforces areas of the enclosure that are most susceptible to low-frequency vibrations, helping to improve stereo imaging and overall precision.
Helmholtz Tech to Combat Standing Waves
In addition, Q Acoustics integrates its HPE Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer technology. Specially designed internal tubes reduce standing waves and pressure effects inside the cabinet, contributing to controlled performance across a wide range of listening levels.
Visually, the 3040c follows the design language of the company’s current loudspeaker range. The slim cabinet features gently rounded edges and avoids visible screws or cabinet joints on the front panel. A one-piece driver trim finished in Satin Nickel—or Satin Chrome on the white version—defines the speaker’s appearance.
Like the larger 3050c, the 3040c is equipped with an aluminum stabilizer fitted with top-adjustable spikes. A low-profile rear terminal with recessed binding posts is also designed to simplify placement closer to a wall.

The Q Acoustics 3040c is available in four finishes: Satin Black, Satin White, Pin Oak, and Claro Walnut. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is €899 per pair.
